WSOP Adds Value Menu and Offers Hotel Discounts

The World Series of Poker is doing everything to get players exciting about the 2020 WSOP. Yet another announcement last week introduced the Value Menu, many tournaments with $1,000 buy-ins or less.

There are also ways to book those Las Vegas trips already, using a special WSOP promo code.

Latest Additions to Schedule

The first announcement from the WSOP staff in 2020 introduced the championship tournament schedule. That list included buy-in events of $10K each, with the exception of the $50K buy-in Poker Players Championship.

The latest additions to the 2020 WSOP schedule will appeal to players without those sizeable bankrolls and casual players. The lowest buy-in is $400 for the Colossus No Limit Hold’em tournament, and several other tournaments require buy-ins of only $600.

Two events on the Value Menu are new to the WSOP – the Forty Stack and the $500 Freezeout NLHE events. Most tournaments allow at least one reentry, but there are a few freezeouts, too.

The list of Value Menu tournaments is as follows:

  • May 27: $1K Freezeout NLHE (no reentries, 20K chips, 30-min levels)
  • May 27: $500 Casino Employees NLHE (1 reentry, 25K chips, 40-min levels)
  • May28-31: $500 Big 50 NLHE (1 entry per flight, 50K chips, 50-min levels)

This, added to the previously-announced tournaments, puts the total at 45 events. More will be added, however. It is unclear what the final number of events will be, but the 2019 WSOP offered 90 gold bracelet tournaments.

More information about each event, including starting times, is on the WSOP website. Structure sheets for each event have yet to be released but will likely be available in the next month or two.

Value Accommodations

Canadian players wanting to participate in the 2020 World Series of Poker will need to secure their own flights or other transportation to Las Vegas. However, there are deals to be found on hotel rooms once in Sin City.

The most convenient hotel for WSOP players is the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. With the games in the Rio Convention Center, the ability to return to one’s room on breaks and save time before and after tournaments is key to a productive trip. Poker players can use the “WSOP20” booking code provided by the WSOP to make discounted room reservations.

In fact, that booking code can be used at any of Caesars’ properties in Las Vegas. The only requirement to receive the special WSOP pricing is to be a member of the Caesars Rewards club, which is free. It is also very simple to sign up for a membership online at the Caesars website.

Without fail, this is a complete list of Caesars properties in Las Vegas, in addition to the Rio, for which the WSOP promo code can be used for booking hotel rooms:

  • Bally’s Las Vegas
  • Caesars Palace
  • Flamingo Las Vegas
  • Harrah’s Las Vegas
  • Nobu Hotel
  • Paris Las Vegas
  • Planet Hollywood
  • The Cromwell
  • The Link

All of the above-listed properties are on the Strip but offer free shuttles to the Rio multiple times each day and night.
