New Game of the Week: The One-Armed Bandit
Every group of bandits has a leader, and in this game, it’s the one-armed bandit. The sheriff of the Old West town has to defeat all of the outlaws, but at the end, it’s their leader who poses the greatest threat to the people.
The One-Armed Bandit is the sheriff’s greatest nemesis.
Players in this newest online slot game from Yggdrasil fight with the sheriff to defeat the outlaws, all of which can be lucrative adventures. But the one-armed bandit is the target with the biggest payouts.
Complete with free spins and wins up to a 100x multiplier, The One-Armed Bandit is an exciting slot experience that brings something new to a very popular theme.
Yggdrasil Product Owner of Slots Natalya Ovchinnikova noted: “We’re excited to present our own twist on a classic theme. What’s great about this game is its super high volatility and huge win potential, combined with its interesting way of triggering and entering free spins, ensuring players get the ultimate Wild West experience.”
About The One-Armed Bandit
Yggdrasil’s latest slot game is a 5-reel, 3-row game with a 96.3% RTP (return-to-player).
The soundtrack for The One-Armed Bandit is straight out of an old Western movie. Players feel like they’re in an old Western town in America, with the guitar and harmonica giving the feel of quiet and desolation with a hint of mystery. The bad guys could be lurking around any corner.
There aren’t many corners, though. The game takes place in the desert, with the reels set on a wooden stage.
With 20 paylines in play and the lowest coin value set at $0.005, the minimum bet is only $0.10. Coin values can be increased to $0.01, $0.02, $0.03, $0.05, $0.07, $0.10, $0.20, $0.30, $0.50, $0.70, $1.00, $1.30, and $2.00. That puts the max bet of the game at $40.00.
Some of the game options include the ability to adjust the sound and turn it off, speed up the spins, display values in coins, use the space bar to spin, or use the autoplay function. Autoplay can stop at various intervals, when entering free spins, or if the player balance increases or decreases by set amounts.
The primary symbols of the game pay out as follows, each one listed for five of the designated symbols at the lowest coin value:
- Pistol and bullets (orange background): $8.00
- Canteen (purple background): $6.00
- Cowboy hat (green background): $3.50
- Saddle spur (blue background): $2.00
- Orange heart: $0.65
- Purple spade: $0.50
- Green club: $0.40
- Blue diamond: $0.35
The gold wild symbol substitutes for all regular symbols listed above and provides a 5x multiplier. It maxes out at 100x at the height of the game.
How to Play The One-Armed Bandit
Hit the green spin button and go for it!
One of the first things to look for is the scatter symbol, which is a bandit wearing a bandana over his nose and mouth. With one scatter, it triggers one respin; two scatters offer two respins. During those special spins, the scatter turns into a 5x wild symbol.
If the scatter symbols hit on five reels, this triggers a bonus round of 10 free spins. If the player had additional respins at the time, those turn into extra free spins for the bonus round.
Free spins begin with a 5x multiplier and can increase to 20x. (This does not count additional wild multipliers on the reels, which add up to greater winnings.) Each bonus symbol during free spins adds an additional spin, but two bonus symbols increase the multiplier another 5x.
The ultimate showdown puts the player up against the one-armed bandit in the bonus round.
Some of the scatter and wild allocations can be a little confusing until a player gets used to the game. But there always seems to be something happening – respins, wilds, scatters – to keep the action moving.
Where to Play The One-Armed Bandit
Most of the top-ranked Canadian online casinos provide players with access to Yggdrasil games. Some of the most highly recommended sites on our list, such as Play Amo, Leo Vegas, and BetChan were happy to offer The One-Armed Bandit.
Recently, Yggdrasil Gaming revamped its HTML client and has been rolling out upgrades. The new client is called iSENSE 2.0+ and is available on some of the newer releases.
The One-Armed Bandit is one of those games. The incorporation of iSENSE 2.0+ in the game gives it a more modern design and feel for players, whether playing the game on a desktop or mobile device. Players may notice easier in-game deposits and other features, but the most noticeable change will be the visuals that are crisper and more vivid.
