New Game of the Week: Pirates Plenty Battle for Gold

The latest online slot release from Red Tiger Gaming is special for several reasons.

Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold is the follow-up game to Pirates’ Plenty – The Sunken Treasure. The latter was only released in February 2019, but the game has been so popular in online casinos that its successor is being released six months later.

More importantly, this is a big milestone for Red Tiger Gaming. Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold is Red Tiger Gaming’s 100th slot release.

The newest slot game from RTG brings excitement from bonus spins and locked wilds, but it adds wild bombs and features that keep players on their toes.

Further, there is a treasure map that can be unlocked for the chance to win up to 5,000x the betting stake.

Who doesn’t want to find the hidden treasure?!

Red Tiger Director of Business Development called Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold one of the company’s more immersive titles and a great sequel to its highly-regarded predecessor. Combine (free spins with sticky wilds) with the treasure map functionality that allows for a lower volatility introduction experience before the heat is turned up,” he said, “and you have a great player experience!”

About Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold

The new game in the series is a 5×3 online slot, though it expands to a 5×4 in the bonus round. There are 20 paylines in the base game but that increases to 30 paylines in the bonus game.

The default RTP (return-to-player) is 96.07%.

Players can choose to play at the minimum stake, which is a $0.20 bet per spin. Or they may choose to increase that bet incrementally up to the max bet amount of $20.00 per bet.

Personalizing the game can include choosing turbo spins or using auto spins, which range from 10 to 100. However, players can set a loss limit in a dollar amount or stop auto spins if a win exceeds a certain amount.

The wild symbols are the sneaky-looking monkeys. The monkey with the gold coins can say “wild” or “x2 wild” and serve as that designation for that spin.

The payouts for each symbol, when hitting five of them at the minimum stake, are as follows:

  • Pirate skull and crossbones: 600
  • Pirate hat: 180
  • Smoking cannon: 150
  • Smoking guns: 120
  • Spinning bottle: 90
  • Green spade: 45
  • Blue heart: 36
  • Black diamond: 30
  • Red club: 24

The entire game is played in a cave, where the reels are surrounded by gold coins. Of course, there are lanterns and chests to hold the treasures, knives and swords, and a map to Wild Island Row.

With a background of calm ocean waves, the soothing soundtrack when the game sits stagnant makes one imagine a beautiful ocean.

The pirates enter, though, when the spins begin, and the music indicates a bit of a frantic search. That’s when the excitement begins.

How to Play Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold

One of the main things to look for when playing Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold is the treasure map symbol. Each one goes to the treasure map above the reels. Collecting the maps throughout play moves the pirate ship along the route toward its goal.

When the pirate ship reaches its destination, it opens access to Wild Island Row. Play then continues indefinitely on that new set of reels during that play session. The 5×4 screen plays with an additional 10 win lines.

Look for wilds, as they can serve as substitutes for low-paying symbols but can trigger respins for higher-paying symbols.

When a player hits three or more Battle Spins symbols on a regular spin, that triggers the bonus round.

If the canon shows up on the first reel during the bonus round, it can “Fire!” and shoot cannonballs at various symbols to change them to wilds. Cannonballs can also offer more spins. Meanwhile, the wilds hold in place while re-spins offer more win potential.

During a Battle Spins round, Captain Blackbeard throws wild bombs. The bombs can be regular wilds, 2x wilds, 3x or 4x wilds, or the maximum 5x wild symbol. Wilds can also appear via the Fire! symbols.

Where to Play Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold

This Red Tiger release is new but already at some of Canada’s top online casinos. LeoVegas has the new Pirates’ Plenty slot, as does Spinland. It appears that 888casino has the first in the series but not the second one yet.

As Red Tiger Gaming celebrates this 100th slot title milestone, the company is not resting on its laurels. Rather, there are efforts to forge new online casino partnerships and release more games this year.

Since the Pirates’ Plenty series is doing so well, players might look for a third in that series in the next year or so as well.
