New Game of the Week: Ancient Fortunes: Zeus

The latest online slots game to emerge from the partnership between Microgaming and Triple Edge Studios is Ancient Fortunes: Zeus.

The two companies teamed up in early 2018 and announced their deal at ICE Totally Gaming. Microgaming is known to partner with various unique game studios in order to add to the vast library of titles already in the Microgaming vault. The first release from the duo was Playboy Gold, a game that has done exceptionally well. Triple Edge Studios is also known for such titles as Book of Oz, and Lara Croft Temples and Tombs.

Ancient Fortunes: Zeus is a five-reel slot with 10 paylines. The features are what make it exceptional, with Rolling Reels the most exciting among them.

Anyone who played Book of Oz knows the power of a Triple Edge Studios slot game. The mechanics behind the game pulls players into the action and make it an experience rather than just a game.

With up to 70 free spins available and a multiplier that can climb as high as 21x, Ancient Fortunes: Zeus is another game Microgaming can be proud to offer.

About Ancient Fortunes: Zeus

The game is set on Mount Olympus, taking players back to ancient Greece. The mysterious tone is clear with the cloudy sky setting and thunder sounds in the background. The drumbeat urges players to pay attention and see what happens when the reels spin.

All of the 3×5 action feature symbols appear as stones, which a worker might have used to build an ancient pyramid. Players will find Zeus and many other Greek gods in this slot game, including Dionysus, Poseidon, Hermes, and Ares. The symbols are adorned with gods and mythological creatures

Zeus makes a special appearance as the wild symbol, adorned by gold leaves and decorations. Meanwhile, his lightning bolt is the scatter symbol that can lead to free spins.

One of the unique features of Ancient Fortunes: Zeus is wins pay from left to right AND right to left.

Symbols vary in payouts for three to five of them on a payline, with gods paying more than creatures.

Players can choose bets ranging from $0.10 per spin to $70.00 per spin. They also have the option to eliminate the introduction screen, turn on quick spins for faster play, eliminate game sounds or all sounds, and turn the background music on or off.

How to Play This Mount Olympus Based Game

Rolling Reels are the primary feature of the game. A winning symbol shows the winning payout and then drops those symbols to allow new ones to fall into place. This allows for consecutive wins.

And as the wins continue from that initial spin, the multiplier increases in the base game and even more so in the free-spins bonus round. For example:

  • Initial spin = 1x in base, 3x in bonus
  • 1st roll = 2x in base, 7x in bonus
  • 2nd roll = 3x in base, 11x in bonus
  • 3rd roll = 7x in base, 21x in bonus

At the top of the screen, the multiplier levels light up, and Zeus informs players when they increase a multiplier. Zeus becomes particularly animated in tone when multipliers increase. And if the player scores a big – or even a mega – win, he extends a hand from the clouds to deliver the winnings, and red and blue gems fall from the sky.

The other thing to look for is the lightning bolt, which can award free spins if they appear on a payline from left to right OR right to left. Three in a row triggers 10 free spins, four on a line give the player 15 free spins, and five of them put up 20 free spins. If more lightning symbols appear on the board, though, they only add to the spins, especially during the bonus round.

Where to Play Ancient Fortunes: Zeus

The online casino game can feel like one with high variance during base play, though the multipliers increasing via Rolling Reels helps the action keep going. But it can all even out with a visit to the free spins zone, where payouts are much better due to higher multipliers.

Ancient Fortunes: Zeus is already available at top online casinos like All Slots Casino, and Play Amo, among many others that offer Microgaming online slots.
