Manitoba Launches New Exclusive Bingo Platform with IGT
International Game Technology PLC (IGT) has exclusively created and launched a new Bingo platform with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL). The new Bingo platform features live session bingo games, as well as a customised, 10-game content bundle specifically developed for MBLL.
Manitoba residents know it as MBLL, the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation. It is the regulatory agency located in Winnipeg that oversees sale of lottery products, distribution and sale of alcohol, and operation of Winnipeg casinos.
Originally, the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation was established in 1993. It then merged with the Liquor Control Commission in 2013 to become a more efficient overseer of licencing and regulation. Its purpose, as stated on its website, is to “make the greatest possible contribution to the economic and social well-being of our province.”
The MBLL oversees a number of gambling options for its residents, one of which is the video lottery terminal. VLTs are located throughout the province in hotels, lounges, and legions, and they offer spinning reels, poker games, and keno. There is also the PlayNow website, which offers everything from lottery games to sports betting, online poker, casino games, and internet bingo. Lotto Spot is also a way to participate in Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Daily Grind, Scratch ‘N Win, Keno, and Sport Select lottery-type games.
Of course, there are the two Winnipeg casinos, too: McPhillips Station Casino and Club Regent Casino. Both offer a variety of 1,200 slot machines, electronic table games, and live bingo sessions. Among the variety of machines in the two establishments, there are electronic bingo machines.
Enter IGT, also known as International Game Technology and one of the leading producers of gaming technology in the world. It has launched entirely new bingo options in the MBLL casinos.
As one of the most popular games on PlayNow and in casinos, bingo continues to attract new generations of players. Online bingo has brought younger players to the game. Moreover, the demand for more bingo options in casinos continues to increase.
The MBLL recently partnered with IGT to launch that new bingo platform. It has subsequently resulted in 500 new Class III games between McPhillips Station and Club Regent.
IGT Regional VP of Canada David Flinn noted; “The Bingo Gaming Solution that we’ve developed for MBLL delivers a dynamic player experience and leverages a wide range of proven IGT game content that was bundled specifically for MBLL and its players.”
The games are housed on the CrystalSlant cabinet for live bingo sessions and new content that features 10 games. Those games include Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 3, Deuces Wild Poker, Fireball Keno, and Cleopatra Keno.
The casinos of Winnipeg contribute greatly to the overall revenue of the MBLL. And therefore to the overall revenue of Manitoba.
Per the 2017-2018 financials of MLBB, the total allocation to the province was $610.4 million. MLBB business partners supported some of this amount. Significant numbers went to community programs, however.
– Community sponsorships: $3.2 million
– Bingo volunteer program: $3.9 million
– Social responsibility initiatives: $12 million
From casino operations alone in the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the two facilities generated $253.6 million, which was an increase of $16.5 million (7%) from the previous year’s $237.1 million. Comprehensive income was $76 million, which was up by 16%. Within that growth, electronic gaming and table games increased at both properties, but recent renovations at Club Regent contributed to more growth at that particular casino over McPhillips Station.
The MBLL expects further growth in the 2018-2019 fiscal year, as predicted by the MBLL corporate business plan. The document noted, “Gaming & Entertainment operations are heavily reliant on third-party suppliers for key offerings.” This applies to partnerships with companies like IGT bringing innovative, fresh games to the casinos that will attract and retain customers.
The MBLL is also focusing on replacing outdated equipment at both casinos and working with them on development projects to ensure continuing growth.
