New Game of the Week: Game of Gladiators

Play’n GO is a game developer and online casino supplier that is releasing a significant number of new slot games this year. The latest is Game of Gladiators, which looks to be one of the most successful of its 2019 releases after Phoenix Reborn and Contact.

Game of Gladiators is a 5-reel video slot with graphics that will amaze even the most regular online casino slot players. This game also offers many fun and entertaining features. This includes male and female main characters fighting in the arena against lions and masked opponents. The sound effects create an atmosphere that is mysterious and exciting, more than just a visual experience.

Released on June 6, Play’n GO executives like CEO Johan Torngvist are anticipating a very positive response from players and casino operators alike:

“Game of Gladiators adds an exciting new option to the market, and we look forward to having players of the game enjoy battling it out in the Enter the Arena feature!”

About Game of Gladiators

Players who enter the game as gladiators are able to play the features competing as ancient fighting legends. This even includes Spartacus (the male gladiator) or Amazonia (the female character).

The sounds bring players right into the arena in the days of yore. Meanwhile, the stone arena entrance serves as the background for the reels, with fire spewing from the torches on either side of that entrance gate. Furthermore, the reels even make a sound of chains as they roll to a stop after each spin. The game’s background music is also atmospheric and eerie.

The 5-reel, 3-row game offers 20 paylines, and wilds can expand into mega wilds to pay up to 5000 times the bet during unlimited free spins.

The symbols used in the game are as follows:

  • Roaring tiger (wild): pays 40 for 5 symbols
  • Scissor (gold-masked gladiator with red/orange background): pays 32 for 5 symbols
  • Provocator (sword-wielding gladiator with purple background): pays 24 for 5 symbols
  • Murmillio (shield-holding gladiator with green background): pays 16 for 5 symbols
  • Retiarus (face-painted gladiator with blue background): pays 16 for 5 symbols
  • A and K: each pay 4 for 5 symbols
  • Q and J: each pay 1.6 for 5 symbols

Players can compete for as little as $0.20 per spin or increase to $0.40, $0.60, $0.80, $1.00, $1.60, $2.00, $2.60, $3.60, $5.00, $7.00, $10.00, $20.00, $40.00, $50.00, and finally $100.00 per spin.

There is an autoplay feature for up to 100 spins with the option to stop it on any win, or if a win or balance hits certain levels. And there is a lightning button for faster spins.

How to Play This Gladiator Based Game

During baseplay, there are five possible Primus Mystery features that can be randomly triggered, namely:

  • Spear Attack: Randomly, three to six spears thrown at the reels become wild.
  • Sword Attack: First reel is duplicated two to four times on other reels.
  • Net Attack: A gladiator sticks and a respin is awarded.
  • Fame: A gladiator is chosen and pays out according to the Battle Paytable.
  • Enraged: Two full-reel mega wilds are added.

Three arena gates – one each on reels one, three, and five – then trigers the bonus.

The Enter the Arena bonus offers the chance to choose a champion. Spartacus has a retrigger feature, and Amazonia has the potential for 20x to 100x bet multipliers.

The spins are limited only by the battle itself, which can end in one of two ways. Either when the chosen champion wins. Or alternatively, when the opponents pile up at the top of the feature screen and push the champion to their death.

Each spin that shows the chosen champion will also put opponents on the battlefield. Each roar of the champion then eliminates a section of opponents at various multipliers. A battle prize table shows how much each opponent pays. This varies according to their numbers and the amount destroyed.

While in the arena, all tiger wilds expand into mega wilds, as they lash out from the screen to offer bigger payouts. If the champion wins the battle they receive a victory prize. Spartacus awards a retrigger for the bonus, and Amazonia pays out the 20x to 100x multiplier.

Where to Play Game of Gladiators

As a high-variance game, players should subsequently be  prepared for a wide range of action and high-energy bonus rounds. There is little time to spin without watching the screen for random Primus features, or the gates for the Enter the Arena bonus.
