Top Cryptocurrencies Available at Canadian Online Casinos

The growth of cryptocurrency in the past decade has made its mark on any number of industries beyond the obvious financial sector. Online gaming operators have been impacted greatly – and positively – as players discovered the ease with which transfers became possible.

Cryptocurrency has made the process of buying goods and services online easier than ever before, and online casinos and poker sites are some of the beneficiaries of the trend.

Bitcoin and More

After Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies appeared in 2009 and subsequent years, online casino operators were inundated with customers asking to be able to deposit and withdraw funds in this way.

Some casinos gave in, with Bodog being one of the very first Canadian-facing online casinos to embrace and offer Bitcoin as a deposit and withdrawal option. Others joined, too, such as 888casino and 888poker, and Slots.LV.

Operators like Playamo and CasinoChan fully embraced Bitcoin and offered more options from the cryptocurrency world. They offered – and still offer – Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and now Tether.

Let’s look at the top Canadian casino sites for cryptocurrency users.

  1. Playamo

As one of the largest, most popular, and highly rated casino sites, Playamo opens its virtual doors to cryptocurrency users. Players have six options, all of which offer deposits and withdrawals and the instant availability of funds. And the operator charges no fees for using these options.

There are no caps on deposit amounts, and the minimums are as follows:

  • Bitcoin: BTC to BTC = 0,001 / BTC to EUR = 0,003
  • Ethereum = 0,01 ETH
  • Bitcoin Cash = 0,01 BCH
  • Dogecoin = 1500 DOGE
  • Litecoin = 0,1 LTC
  • Tether = 10 USDT

Withdrawals from online casino accounts have minimums that vary slightly and do have max amounts.

  • Bitcoin: BTC to BTC = 0,001 min, 2 BTC max / BTC to EUR = 0,003 min, 2 BTC max
  • Ethereum = 0,01 min, 5 ETC max
  • Bitcoin Cash = 0,01 min, 5 BCH max
  • Dogecoin = 1500 min, 700,000 DOGE max
  • Litecoin = 0,1 min, 30 LTC max
  • Tether = 20 min, 4,000 USDT max

Playamo dedicates an entire section of its website to Bitcoin. It explains cryptocurrency, how it works, and the exact steps required to exchange BTC.

For those new to Bitcoin, the dedicated page explains how to purchase Bitcoin, complete with screenshots and detailed explanations. The examples use Cubits as the wallet and partner for buying and exchanging Bitcoin.

Cryptocurrency options available on Playamo are all powered by CoinsPaid.

  1. CasinoChan

One of the newer casinos for many Canadian online casino players, CasinoChan took a page directly from Playamo.

The site offers the same cryptocurrency options: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Tether. There are no fees for using any of them, all offer instant account use after depositing, and all can be used for withdrawals as well.

Minimums and maximums are the same as on Playamo, as are the wallet suggestions and instructions.

  1. Bodog Casino

As mentioned, Bodog was one of the first online casino and poker operators to offer Bitcoin. It also devotes an entire webpage to informing customers about the process of moving cryptocurrency from a wallet to Bodog.

Bodog Casino offers Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash as its digital currency options, as they remain the most popular, and it charges no fees for using either of them. However, Bitcoin SV was recently added as the third cryptocurrency option.

The minimum deposit amount for each option is the equivalent of $10 and the maximum is $5,000. There are maximum withdrawal amounts as follows:

  • Bitcoin: BTC = $9,500 equivalent max withdrawal
  • Bitcoin Cash: BCH = $3,000 equivalent max withdrawal
  • Bitcoin SV: BSV = unlisted max withdrawal

Any winnings exceeding those amounts will be fulfilled by conducting withdrawals every three days.

  1. Slots.LV

This may be a lesser-known online casino but one that Canadians rate highly. Slots.LV allows deposits and withdrawals in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

As with the others, this operator goes to great detail to answer questions about cryptocurrency transactions on a special webpage. There is also a Bitcoin education page.

Slots.LV recommends using BreadWallet for this purpose, but the customer service department will help with other wallets.

The minimums and maximums for Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are the same: $10 equivalent minimum and $5,000 for deposits, and $10 equivalent minimum and $2,500 for withdrawals. Players who achieve VIP status, however, may withdraw the equivalent of $9,500 at a time.

  1. 888Casino

888Casino is the latest Canadian online casino to explore cryptocurrency options for its players. Currently, though, the only way to do so is to use the Bitcoin by Skrill option.

This means that players can use a Skrill ewallet with which to purchase Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash, then depositing via Skrill. Still relatively new, customer service representatives can answer questions.
