New Game of the Week: Cash-O-Matic

NetEnt’s latest slot game, Cash-O-Matic, is designed to look like an old-style cashier machine. However, it has all of the bells and whistles that the latest technology allows. That makes it one of the most exciting new slots offered by internet casinos this month.

Imagine going to a cash machine that simply churned out money. Imagine then being able to push a few buttons for a chance to win good old-fashioned cash. The Cash-O-Matic slot gives you that feel, one of an old-style cash machine used in stores long before ATMs were even invented.

Cash-O-Matic is a retro game that harkens back to a simpler life and good old-fashioned gambling. It also comes complete with the new Avalanche feature, free spins and multipliers, scatter stacks and cascading reels. NetEnt Director of Games Bryan Upton explained:

“We’re pleased to present Cash-O-Matic, a true homage to the first slot machine, the Liberty Bell. High volatility reverse Avalanche action, free games, scatter stacks, and multipliers in a very simple and elegant art package. A game for the VIP players out there”.

About Cash-O-Matic

The game is a 5-reel, 4-row video slot that offers 1,024 bet ways. Cash-O-Matic is a true tribute to retro-style games. Furthermore, this medium to high variance slot has a RTP (return-to-player) of 96.33%.

Players hear a soundtrack that sounds like a piano player in an old-style saloon. All of the spins and metre sounds are reminiscent of a classic cash machine.

Meanwhile, betting starts at Level 1 with a 20-coin bet and goes up to Level 10, where the bet is 200 coins or $2.00. That is when the coin value is set at $0.01. Other coin values are $0.02, $0.05, $0.10, $0.20, and $0.50. The max bet is $100.00, which is the way to trigger all 1,024 bet ways. Each level then increases the number of bet ways.

The payouts for the symbols are as follows:

  • Red star: 20x for 5 symbols
  • Yellow circle: 8x for 5 symbols
  • Green pentagon: 8x for 5 symbols
  • Blue square: 7x for 5 symbols
  • A & K: 5x for 5 symbols
  • Q & J & 10: 4x for 5 symbols

How to Play Cash-O-Matic

– Avalanche

The primary feature to look for when playing Cash-O-Matic is the Avalanche. This is triggered when a winning combination appears on the reels. At that point, all other symbols disappear, the winning symbols fall into place, and more symbols fall until nothing new is added to that payout.

– Level Multiplier

The second thing to watch is the level multiplier, which is tracked on the leftmost side of the screen. When at least one row fills with winning symbols, a new level multiplier is awarded.

  • One level of winning symbols = 1x multiplier
  • Two levels: 2x multiplier
  • Three levels: 4x multiplier
  • Four levels: 10x multiplier

– Free Spins

Third, players are hoping to win free spins. This can happen when scatter symbols fall onto the screen. Essentially, 10 scatter symbols, as tracked just to the left of the reels, warrant 10 free spins. But more scatters mean more free spins.

During free spins, the multiplier can increase dramatically, depending upon how many scatters activated the free spins.

  • 10-14 scatters = 2x for one level, 3x for two, 8x for three, and 20x for four
  • 15-19 scatters = 3x for one level, 6x for two, 12x for three, and 30x for four
  • 20 or more scatters = 5x for one level, 10x for two, 20x for three, and 50x for four

A few things to note are that the level multiplier resets between free spins, but avalanches do not. At the end of a free spin bonus round, all payouts are put together and paid. At which point the game returns to the round that activated those free spins.

A win is calculated by matching symbols in any position on two or more adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel and moving to the right.

It is all a bit complicated until a few spins and payouts show exactly what’s happening.

Where to Play Cash-O-Matic

Players with an affinity for the days of yore and the retro sounds of a cash register and player piano will love Cash-O-Matic. And with so many ways to win – not only bet ways but through the variety of features – players will want to keep spinning until the next bit of excitement occurs.

Play Amo was one of the very first casinos to offer Cash-O-Matic, as they have priority deals with NetEnt. Their casino customers therefore get to play NetEnt games first. Their action has subsequently been picking up quickly since the game’s late June release.
