888poker Introduces New Poker Tournament Collection

The decision-makers at 888poker are always listening to players, especially with respect to tournaments. Do they want more progressive knockouts? Are they tired of unlimited reentries? Do they want more tournaments in the evenings? How about more guarantees?

They’ve listened and responded with restructured daily and weekly lineup of online poker tournaments. 888poker added more than $500K in guarantees weekly, cut down on the number of reentries, and generally made the schedule more friendly to recreational players.

They also introduced new PKO options for Pot Limit Omaha players with PKOmaha. Two of them have joined the daily calendar.

New Look and New Lineup

For those who’ve played on 888poker for years, they’re familiar with tournament names like the BIG Fish and the Mega Deep. They have been staples in the 888poker tournament lobby for years.

Now, it’s time for something new.

There are six primary new offerings, some at the low, medium, and high buy-in levels to cater to a range of players. And all of them offer prize pool guarantees.

  • The Big Shot: Main event of each day with big prize pools
  • The Rumble: Daily PKO options with bounties galore
  • The Dash: Daily turbo-structured tournaments for fast play and quick finishes
  • The Voyage: Deepstacked events with more liberal structures, longer levels
  • The Mayhem: Turbo six-max events
  • The Classic: More traditional tournaments with shorter registration times and no reentries

Most of the tournaments will cater more toward recreational players, which means the structures will be faster to allow for people to participate in their free time. 888poker is also scheduling more events during prime-time hours for those same recreational customers. Payout structures will also stretch to pay more players, as finishing in the money often brings recreational players back to the tables.

Need a Boost to Get Involved?

In order to welcome more players to the dailies, 888poker launched a new giveaway promotion on February 25. It runs through April 2, so there is plenty of time to cash in on the $200K worth of tickets and tournament seats.

There are several ways to play.

First, tickets will be available for wins in the Winner Spinner game. It is a free perk for playing on 888, and players can spin twice per day. They are guaranteed to win something, whether a free sports bet, tickets to exclusive freerolls, tournament seats, or free play at the 888casino.

Second, Gift Drops drop random prizes at poker tables – in cash games, multi-table tournaments, and BLAST and Snap games – with tournament tickets.

Third, players in the 888poker Loyalty Club, which is free to join. It is a way to earn rewards for simply playing on the site but also provides access to daily freerolls and challenges for prizes. During this special promotion for the new tournaments, players can use points for discounts to those tournaments.  And there will be new daily entries (freerolls) into the new tournaments as well.

PLO + PKO = PKOmaha

Progressive knockout tournaments have become quite popular over the past couple of years. Half of the player’s buy-in goes to the prize pool, and the other half is the player’s bounty. Knock a player out and collect their bounty. It’s a chance to win money before the tournament even bursts the money bubble.

And more players than ever are playing Pot Limit Omaha. 888poker put those together to offer new PKOmaha events – two of them on the daily schedule.

  • Daily at 12:45pm CT: $22 buy-in PKOmaha ($1K GTD) with $2.20 satellites (3 seats GTD)
  • Daily at 2:15pm CT: $5.50 buy-in PKOmaha 6-Max ($500 GTD) with $0.50 sats (3 seats GTD)

Both of those offerings will start players with 100 big blinds, eight-minute levels, 70 minutes of late registration, and three rebuys allowed per player.

Omaha games are now available on the Made to Play 888poker app, too, with games starting at just $0.01/$0.02.

Made to Play Proves Popular

When 888poker upgraded its poker platform to Made to Play last year, players have been pleased with the improved navigation ability and better graphics. The mobile gaming action, however, provides the most noticeable changes.

Poker players can multi-table on their mobile apps now, and the vertical play on the poker app now matches the linked casino app (888casino) and sports betting mobile app (888sport).
