There are a lot of nice things about Canada. Winter, unfortunately, is not one of them. It’s not bad for a week or two – or maybe even a month. But a few months of cold and grey, it wears on you. To pick you up, we’ve found some of our favorite wintery casino games. When you’re home and bundled up inside, these games are sure to bring you some joy.
Best Snow-Themed Slot
Typically, most Canadians have some kind of pastime related to the snow. The majority of us just try to avoid it. However, some dive right in. Whether it’s snowboarding in Banff or snowshoeing in Algonquin Park or a nice après ski Whistler, there are ways to embrace the white powder. Here’s one more way to have fun with it.

Suggested Game: Let It Snow
Where To Play: Bulletz
Best Cold-Themed Slots
January (and February) is when Canadians love for the cold shifts towards tepid and tolerant. By then, we’ve had enough already. It’s kind of fun when it snows around Christmas or New Year’s because it’s a fun seasonal thing. By February, you’re still shoveling out your car from snowbanks, you’re stepping in slush wherever you want and you haven’t seen a sunny day in months. It’s not ideal but it’s part of being Canadian.
Suggested Slot: Cold As Ice
Where To Play: Dragonia
Best Winter-Themed Slot
While it’s true that Canadian life can be drab in the winter – especially if you’re stuck at home and shoveling driveways. However, if you do get out and see the country, it’s actually quite beautiful when it’s blanketed in white snow. If you can catch some auroras or visit the mountains, you’ll see some of the world’s most beautiful nature. We are quite lucky in that regard.
Suggested Slot: Majestic Winter
Where To Play: OnlyWin
Best Christmas-Themed Slot
When December arrives, few Canadians mind the winter. It’s (usually) the first taste of cold of the year. And if there’s some snow, it’s kind of fun to have a white Christmas and snowy holiday season. With that in mind, our first slot recommendation is a perfectly seasonal one.
Suggested Game: Santa’s Bag
Where To Play: Crowngreen
Best New Year’s-Themed Slot
New Year’s tends to be the time when the passion for winter starts to shift to patience. At first, nobody minds the cold all too much. But after the holidays and after the clock strike’s 12 midnight on December 31st, we have to start embracing the frigid marathon. But before we sink into the cold and dreary, New Year’s is one last time to celebrate.
Suggested Slot: New Year’s Eve Fortune
Where To Play: Cazeus
Editor’s Note
I’ve been braving Canadian winters my entire life. There’s something really elegant about the first few snowfalls of the season. What gets to me is when we’re in mid-February and there’s still no end in sight. Or we’re in April and it’s still cold. Maybe one day I’ll be a snowbird. I can’t wait to trade the snow, sleet and hail for pools (or maybe beaches) in January.
When it comes to the winter slots, my favorite is a rather obscure one. I like Book of Baba Yaga: Winter Spell. It’s chilling in more ways than one and the bonus round is particularly cool. Spinomenal did a good job with this one. You can play it at Cazeus.
Embrace The Canadian Cold
What does it mean to be Canadian? One thing that’s for sure is that it’s signing long winters (although some people in British Columbia don’t have it so bad). If you’re feeling the winter blues, make sure you check out some of recommended slots. It’s always good to have a little fun when you’re cooped up inside during the bleakness of winter.
