Uefa Champions League – Real Madrid to face Bayern

The European classic to take place. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid face each other once again in the Uefa Champions League.  The two European teams were paired on Friday’s semi-final draw. This game promises to be one of a kind compared to last season when they drew.

Real Madrid took a win in the first leg 2-1 at the Allianz Arena. Cristiano Ronaldo was on target twice. The team eventually succeeded 6-3 on aggregate, all thanks to a 4-2 win that took place at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Bayern Munich believed that they were deprived after Arturo Vidal was sent off and also Ronaldo’s second and third goals, that took place on extra time. The team believes that those two goals were supposed to be ruled as offside.

Bayern went on to say that when the team is robbed of a game in that manner, it is actually very hard.  Such mistakes cannot be taking place at a huge tournament as the Uefa Champions League. Bayern was not impressed with the game and feels like the referee had a hand in the game.

Uefa Champions League – Previous Match

When the game was set at 2-1, the team started being fearful and the referee began to show his true colors. Bayern was playing with 10 men on the field and they believe that the referee put the team out of the league. Vidal’s got a second yellow card that night from a challenge that was not a foul. Moreover, Madrid’s midfielder, Casemiro was very lucky not to be sent off. However, there were some verdicts that went Bayern’s way as well.

Earlier in the match, Vidal was supposed to be sent off for a reckless challenge which was unpunished. Bayern was given a penalty after there was some theatrics from Arjen Robben which most referees would not have considered it. In addition, Robert Lewandowski‘s goal was slightly offside, and Bayern was awarded a penalty which most saw as ridiculous in the first leg. The team missed the penalty.

After the game, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti said ‘’And a year on, Real are in the spotlight again after profiting from a contentious penalty against Juventus on Wednesday to progress to the last four’’. That gave Ronaldo to fire home in strike time and gave Madrid a 4-3 victory.
