James Packer set to return to the leadership role at Crown Resorts and Robert Rankin has announced he will be stepping down from his role at Crown Resorts. This came as part of the senior leadership reshuffle within the company. Rankin’s vacant will be taken up by current Deputy Chairman John Alexander, effective February 1st, 2017.
However, the reshuffling has effectively given a pathway to James Packer to take up his previous leadership role within the company. A while after the move was publicised, the gambling billionaire, James Packer will be returning to Crown Resorts board as one of the directors. Before all this, Packer had quit his chairman position in 2015 and later on in December of the same year, he submitted his resignation as the director.
Rankin said, “he will remain in a director position at Crown Resorts and he will be committed to the position he had when he guided the company through a rapidly changing period”. He further added that “the next stage of development for the company will be more focused on the outstanding Australian asset”.
Alexander’s Role at Crown Resorts
These new developments will be led by John Alexander along with a strong team below him. Alexander will also continue to focus on other tasks within the company, including; the company’s gambling business, VIP operations, and the six star Barangaroo hotel property task.
Alexander stated he looks forward to representing all shareholders of the company to ensure the company continues to grow and create value. He also thanked all the board members for the support that they were giving to him. The realm of Casino gambling is growing bigger and bigger globally.
