It’s a new year and poker is already starting things with live tournaments happening in the first week of 2018. We take a look at the upcoming poker tournaments, where they are happening and the prizes for each event.
WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been happening all around the US and this time it will be at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Oklahoma Durant. It is scheduled to start from the 3rd of January until the 15th of January. There are 12 gold ring tournaments throughout the event. The buy-ins vary starting from $365 to $1675.
Prize pools include $200 000, $300 000 and $500 000. The buy-in for the main event is $1675 and will happen between the 12th of January and the 15th of January 2018. The ultimate prize for the winner apart from the gold ring; they will receive an automatic entry into the 2018 Global Casino Championship.
WPT European Championship
The World Poker Tour (WPT) will be at Spielbank Berlin in Germany. This poker tournament will feature the WPT DeepStacks and WP. It will be from 4 January until 15 January 2018. The WPT DeepStacks will be the first to happen as part of the WPT tournament and has a buy-in of €1500. This event will happen from 5 January with the final game taking place on 8 January with a prize of €500 000.
The main feature of the event is the WPT European Championship which will begin on 10 January 2018. €1 million is the prize pool for the final table with six players on 15 January.
PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
The 2018 edition of PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will take place from 6 January until 14 January. A total of 31 tournaments will be happening throughout the poker tournament. The venue for this PokerStars event is the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.
The main event buy-in is now $10 000 and will be taking place from 8-14 January 2018. There is also the super high roller $100 000 event that is sure to excite many of the attendees. This will be the opening event for the whole festival and will run across three days.
