The Paroli Betting System

The Paroli betting system is a proven betting system used by many roulette players around the world. This particular betting strategy is also known as the anti-martingale system and although it does not increase the chances of winning by decreasing the house edge it is a good system to take note of if you are seeking to employ an intelligent system to playing with your bankroll. You must remember that the Paroli system is not a tactic in the game of roulette but rather a betting tactic for your money.

As with any other betting system players will need only bet on even bets. Even bets are those bets on the roulette table that are located on the outside betting layout on the roulette table. These bets host the lowest house edge and include bets such as the red and black, odd and even, and one to eighteen and nineteen to thirty six bet. You can of course try it on column bets as well although your chances of winning will be slimmer.

Because the system is known to be almost exactly opposite to the Martingale system you must only increase the bet if you have won. If you recall, the Martingale system asks players to increase their bets only after a loss thus making up for all previous losses once a win suffices. Once you have won you start with the original bet.

Let us look at an example of the Paroli system in play:

The first thing you need to do is ask yourself how many wins in a row you would like to achieve. Let us suppose that you are going for a three wins in a row strategy.

You will then place an initial bet of $1 on European Roulette. If you win you will then make a bet of $2. So far you have doubled your initial wager. If you win the third bet of $3 you will then go back to a wager of $1 and start the process again.

The Paroli system is therefore designed for players who are experiencing consecutive wins. It is therefore a good idea to begin playing with another system until you see some sort of pattern forming at the table. If you see that the ball is constantly landing in the black pockets of the roulette wheel you can then go ahead and try the Paroli system by betting only on black.

However, because online roulette is completely random it is probably a bad idea to use this system as a whole. Land based roulette on the other hand is one where patterns are often spotted. This is due to the fact that many roulette croupiers are instructed to play within regions of the roulette wheel, meaning to say that they themselves utilize techniques which come with much practice and experience. Because online roulette does not have the human element present, it is perhaps wise to use a system which doubles losses rather than wins – the Martingale system is therefore a great online roulette strategy to consider.
