The Beginner's Guide To Roulette

Roulette is one of the most popular casino games because it is one of the easiest games to play. The rules are simple to remember and the outcome of any given spin is based on luck, as there is no accurate way to predict where the ball will finish. There are a few Roulette strategies available out there, however none of these has received much attention due to the unpredictable nature of the game rendering these strategies ineffective.

The word ‘roulette’ means small wheel which refers to the slotted, coloured and numbered wheel used in the game. There are 2 versions of roulette, the American and the European. The rules are the same it is just that the European roulette wheel has  37 slot numbered 0 to 36, while the American roulette wheel has 38 slots numbered 0 to 36, with an additional slot marked 00.

The objective of the game is simple; place a bet, predict where the white ball will land on the roulette wheel and cross your fingers in hope that it lands on your choice. Its appeal lies in the fact that the game is effortlessly fun while at the same time the rewards are potentially huge.

Although generally based on luck there are still a few rules that need to be followed when making a bet. There are 2 main betting categories; “Inside bets” which provide a larger return on your initial stake and “Outside bets” which supply smaller cash prizes but are considerably more likely to be successful.

Inside Bets:

• Straight up bet – Place your chip directly on 1 number, only! If you are correct in predicting where the ball will land, you will be paid 35x your initial cash stake.
•  Split bet – Place your chip on the dividing line between 2 numbers. If one of these numbers comes in, you will be awarded 17x their initial stake
• Street bet - Place your chip bet between 3 various numbers. A winning bet will pay you 11x the initial stake.
•  Corner bet - Place your chip between 4 distinct numbers so that a component of the chip is in all 4 of the relevant boxes on the table. If successful, you will obtain 8x your original bet.
• A line bet - Split your chip across 6 numbers in two various rows. A winning bet will be multiplied 5x the initial bet.

Outside Bets:

• Column bet - Place a chip stack at the bottom of the table to cover a whole column of numbers. A winning bet will pay you 3x the initial stake.
• Dozen bet – Place chips on the designated box that covers twelve various numbers of 1-12, 13-24 or 25-36. . A winning bet will pay you 3x the initial stake.
• Colour bet – Choose to put your chip down on either the red or the black box. If you guess the correct colour you will see double your chip stack.
• Even/Odd bet – Decide if you think the ball will land on an even or odd number by placing your chip onto the designated boxes. A winning bet will pay you 2x the initial stake
• Low-High bet – Place your bet on the boxes that allow a split choice between the final number being between 1-18 or 19-36. A winning bet will pay you 2x the initial stake.

Avoid roulette wheels that have a double-zero (00) because it increases the house edge making it harder to win. Choose wisely and watch the wheel as is it may spin you to fortune.
